So Bored?

Subject: RE: [ModerationManagement] Question????I just noticed the similarities between the words “sober” and “so bored”.
Hmmmm… then, looking up the definition of “sober”, M-W.com gave me:
- marked by sedate or gravely or earnestly thoughtful character or demeanor
- UNHURRIED, CALM
- marked by temperance, moderation, or seriousness
- subdued in tone or color
- showing no excessive or extreme qualities of fancy, emotion, or prejudice
And, y’know, those definitions are all entirely TOO serious, too sedate, too grown-up… I think you’ve got a point there.
Now I’m wondering, what words can we use to describe alcohol-free periods of time in more positive ways? Exuberant consciousness? Clear-headed flamboyance? Obnoxiously perceptive? Agggh, too wordy, none of those works for me.
Maybe we need to make up a new word to describe non-drinking… something silly and fun, I’m thinkin’, though nothing is coming to mind yet.
Oh well, in a couple of hours I’m embarking on a 1000-mile road trip from Iowa to DC, so I’ll have all kinds of time to ponder inanities like that…
